Osteo Cast Fetal Skull - Full Term 40 1/2 Weeks BC-228

This is an interesting specimen of a full term fetal skull. It shows signs of possible vacuum extraction with evidence of an inferior vertical shear pattern. The details of the cranial base are quite clear and the occiput is in four parts (squama, basilar, and two condyles). There is an overlap of the parietals over the occiput and one of the parietals overlaps the other. There are obvious lines of bone growth radiating out from the ossification centers on the parietal and frontal eminences.
